Woolf. There was never a time when I didn’t sing. I
was
born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and remember performing when I had to
stand on
the piano bench to be seen by the audience. I lived and trained
privately in
Albuquerque, New Mexico, where I raised three sons. I was soloist at
St. John’s
Cathedral for 10 years there, and sang major roles with Opera
Southwest,
including Tosca, Marguerite and Madame Butterfly. I "retired" to
Taos, but realized I had to sing the Marriage of Figaro just once more
- and
thus my wonderful singing friends and I started Opera Tazza, which has
been
performing the great operatic repertoire here in Taos now for the last
several
years. Our last full opera was Aida, minus armies and elephants. I
recently
performed a dual recital , "Divas!" with Julia Armstrong, and
assisted by Martha Grossman at the piano featuring music by Bach,
Purcell,
Bellini, Verdi, Delibes and Dvorak. |
