Katherine Jetter received both the Bachelor of Music degree in Cello Performance and the Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Mathematics from East Carolina University.  She went on to earn the Master of Music and the Doctor of Music degree in Cello Performance from Florida State University.  Dr. Jetter Tischhauser did her primary musical training with Selma Gokcen, Andrew Luchansky, and Lubomir Georgiev.  She has performed in master classes of Janos Starker, Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, Channing Robbins, and Stephen Doane.   
    Dr. Jetter’s chamber and solo experiences include performances with the International Cello Festival Master Classes in Kronberg, Germany, the Killington Chamber Music Festival, the Alfred Chamber Music Institute, the Florida State New Music Festival, the Fort Lewis Faculty Trio, the Alexander Murray Recital Series, and the Tischhauser-Shelly Ensemble.  She was the cellist for the Camellia String Quartet for two years during which time the ensemble placed in the finals of the Carmel Chamber Music Competition.  She currently plays with Amical Mountains Festival Orchestra, and the Santa Fe Symphony.
Currently, Dr. Jetter resides in Durango, Colorado.  She is Associate Professor of Cello and Music Theory at Fort Lewis College.  In addition to her duties at the college, she actively teaches in the Four Corners area through private lessons at Katzin Music and the Conservatory Music in the Mountains.  She is active as a music instructor in teaching seminars at both the state and national level.
