Hugh Gibson,
Co-Artistic Director of Soundscapes, was violist with
the New Orleans
Philharmonic and the San Antonio Symphony before performing with the
Houston
Symphony for thirty seasons. He was a member of the Santa Fe Opera
Orchestra
for five summers and has been on the performing faculties of the Rocky
Ridge
Music Center, Taos School of Music and the American Institute for
Musical
Studies at Graz, Austria. Mr. Gibson currently resides in Ranches de
Taos, NM.
And performs as principal violist with the Roswell Symphony; he has
also served
as principal violist with the North Carolina, Corpus Christi and San
Juan
Symphonies. Mr. Gibson is also a trained visual artist; his painting
"View
from Llano Quemado" was the artwork for the Soundscapes debut concert
series.
He has exhibited and won awards in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, New
Mexico and
California.
